Kenneth Mason Jardine

Engineer.
Born on 31 October 1930, son of William Donald “Don” Jardine (1896-1952) and Lucy Jean Mason (1901-1996), his childhood was spent at Spearhill. He attended St. James Collegiate to grade 11 then graduated from high school at United College, subsequently receiving a BSc degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba and an MSc degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta.
He worked for Manitoba Highways for most of his working life, serving as its first Traffic Engineer, and retiring as Executive Director of Planning and Design. He spent three years (1972-1975) in Tanzania with the Canadian International Development Agency. He was active with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba, serving as a council member (1978-1982) and its Secretary-Treasurer and President (1982). He was an avid curler, with the Grain Exchange Curling Club and Granite Curling Club.
He died on 14 June 2022, survived by a wife, a son, and two daughters.
