Edna Laura Frame

Educator, author.
Born on a farm near Hamiota on 25 January 1885, daughter of Eliza Jane McDonald (1854-1941) and John Nixon Warren (1854-1938), she taught at Erroll School (1912-1913), Hunter School (1913-1914), and Rathwell School (1915-1917).
On 25 December 1918, she married Angus McMillan Frame (1880-1944) at Miniota and they had two daughters. They farmed near Lenore until the death of her husband. She returned to teaching, at Portage Creek School (1960-1961), Erroll School (?-?), and Mayville School (?-?) until retirement in her 70s, when she moved to Winnipeg. She wrote two books, the first a memoir based on her mother’s life entitled Beside the Buffalo Trail (1975) and the second a volume of poetry, Songs of the Prairies (1983).
She died at Winnipeg on 15 June 1987 and was buried in the Breadalbane Cemetery.
