Born in Sweden around 1893, he came to Canada in 1916 and lived in Winnipeg from 1935 to the end of his life. He was a mining contractor specializing in the sinking of shafts and the opening of new mines. He operated in the areas of Lynn Lake, Gods Lake, North West Territories, and Northwestern Ontario. He died unmarried at the Victoria Hospital on 25 May 1963 and was buried in the Brookside Cemetery.
