Fisheries manager.
Born at Walworth, Surrey, England on 30 June 1887, he came to Canada in 1905 and farmed at Pendennis. He later ranched and fished in the vicinity of Lake Winnipegosis. In 1916, he enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force and served overseas as Quartermaster Sergeant with the 97th and 107th Battalions.
At the time of his 1955 retirement, he was supervisor of Fish Culture and Sport Fishing with the Manitoba Government. He was a member of the Provincial Executive of the Manitoba Federation Game and Fish Association, and a member of the American Fisheries Society, International Association of Game, Fish and Conservation Commissioners, and the Canadian Authors' Association. He wrote for many fishery organizations.
He was married twice, first to Josette Butler (?-?) from whom he was divorced in 1921. On 14 July 1934, he married schoolteacher Mary Effie McVey at Grandview. They had no children. He was a member of the Masons (Vermillion Lodge).
He died at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital on 1 January 1966 and was buried in the Grandview District Cemetery.
