Stan Fontaine

Stan is a member of Sagkeeng First Nation. He has obtained three university degrees: a BA from the University of Manitoba, a BTh conjointly from St Paul’s University and the University of Ottawa, and an MA from the same with concentration in cultural and religious systems. He also has a number of certifications in adult education, native addiction counseling, business management, and accounting.

He has worked in the Indigenous field as an instructor, administrator, consultant and researcher. His last full-time positions were instructing in Aboriginal Community Development at the Assiniboine Community College in Brandon and some 15+ years as a consultant in written requirements for organizations and/or communities, with extensive knowledge on Indigenous cultural practices and Catholic traditions.
