Historic Sites of Manitoba: Vennette House (151 Annabella Street, Winnipeg)

This two-storey wood frame residence on Annabella Street in the Point Douglas area of Winnipeg was built in 1910 by day labour for brothel owner Doris Vennette at a cost of about $2,200. She lived here until 1921 and subsequent occupants included hairdresser Mary Watkins (1920s), painter Adam Zarzecki (1932-1945), and mechanic Stephen Tkaczuk (1950s to 1980s).
