Historic Sites of Manitoba: Transcona Millennium Park (900 McMeans Avenue East, Winnipeg)

Located in Transcona, the park project was both sponsored and funded by community groups, businesses, grants, and government. A sod-turning ceremony was held in August 2001 and completed around October of that year. In September 2002, it was officially opened by Councillor Shirley Timm-Rudolph and MLA Darryl Reid. The Winnipeg park was dedicated to the community’s youth by the Optimists and Rotary Clubs of Transcona.
