Historic Sites of Manitoba: St. Matthew’s Anglican Church (Municipality of Pembina)

Built in 1905, this well-maintained rural church in the Municipality of Pembina is immediately adjacent to New Haven Cemetery. A tablet built into the pulpit inside the church commemorates men of the congregation who died in the First World War. It was unveiled on 6 June 1920 by Edward Sanders (1882-1974), a veteran of the war and a friend of men named on the tablet. The pulpit was built by Robert E. Topham (1860-1922) of Manitou.
