Historic Sites of Manitoba: St. Felix School No. 840 (RM of Prairie Lakes)

The St. Felix School District was established formally in November 1894 and a school building was erected on the northwest quarter of 24-5-18 west of the Principal Meridian in what is now the Rural Municipality of Prairie Lakes. In 1929, a larger and more modern frame building was built on the same location. The school closed in 1951 and its district was dissolved in 1959. The remaining students went to Dunrea Consolidated School No. 147. The school building is no longer present at the site but a stone commemorative monument was installed in the summer of 1996.
