Historic Sites of Manitoba: St. Benedict’s Convent and Academy / St. Benedict’s Monastery (225 Masters Avenue, RM of West St. Paul)

This facility in the Rural Municipality of West St. Paul opened in 1961 as a convent and private school for girls. It closed in 1970 and was converted to the St. Benedict’s Monastery Retreat and Conference Centre. Since then, an associated dormitory has been converted to suites for senior living. The land north and west of the buildings is being converted to residential homes as the facility is expected to close in 2021.
