This 1½-storey red-brown brick and stucco house on Mountain Avenue in Winnipeg, measuring 27 feet by 43 feet, was built in 1929 at a cost of about $4,000 for blacksmith Alexander “Alex” Ostaf (1887-1970). He later sold it to watchmaker Isadore Silverman (c1888-1951).
At the time of a 2025 site visit, the house was relatively unmodified from its original appearance.
