This 1½-storey wood frame and red shingled, Craftsman Cottage-style house on Atlantic Avenue in Winnipeg, measuring 24 feet by 40 feet, was designed and built in 1913 by owner/contractor John H. Kolb at a cost of about $3,600. He sold it to Benjamin Schachter, proprietor of the Schachter Commission Company and the Great West Clothing Company.
At the time of a 2025 site visit, the house was relatively unmodified from its original appearance.
