A monument at this site in the Rural Municipality of Wallace-Woodworth commemorates the Poplar Hill Project, a wetland rehabilitation initiative of Ducks Unlimited Canada. It was completed with funds provided by the Migratory Waterfowl Hunters Incorporated of Alton, Illinois. The project was dedicated to Dr. George V. Burger of Dundee, Illinois.
