On 1 May 1993, at this site in the Rural Municipality of Rockwood, the Oak Hammock Marsh Conservation Centre of Ducks Unlimited Canada was opened officially by President Claude Hooper Wilson, Minister of Western Economic Diversification Mary Collins, and Minister of Natural Resources Harry John Enns. A bronze plaque at the entrance to the facility commemorates the event.
