This Ukrainian Catholic church near Newdale in the Municipality of Harrison Park was formerly a Mennonite church located two miles north of Rivers, having been vacant for some time, and purchased in 1984. The first service in the new church was held on 31 March 1985. It replaced the former Newdale United Church (the former Newdale Methodist Church) that had been sold to the congregation in 1949 and used at a site near the railway station in town. Paintings inside the church were made by Edmonton artist Peter Lipinski.

A cross-shaped stone monument in the cemetery was erected in 1961.
