Historic Sites of Manitoba: Manitou Lodge (2 Pine Street, Powerview-Pine Falls)

This two-storey wood frame structure across the highway from the former Pine Falls Paper Mill in Powerview-Pine Falls was constructed in 1948 by the Manitoba Paper Company at a cost of $500,000. The 73-room facility opened officially on 11 June 1948 at a ceremony attended by Lieutenant Governor Roland Fairbairn McWilliams and Minister of Mines and Natural Resources John Stewart McDiarmid.
