Historic Sites of Manitoba: Lyric Theatre (615 Park Avenue, Beausejour)

Opened by M. Hlady in 1944, the Lyric Theatre in Beausejour was operated by subsequent owner Mike Baxter for 30 of its 71 years. Diminishing attendance and the movie industry’s conversion to digital technology were contributing factors to closure of the theatre in 2015.

The building was occupied by a retail shop at the time of a 2023 site visit.
