Historic Sites of Manitoba: Lowes Homestead Monument (RM of Cornwallis)

This monument, dedicated on 4 July 1981, commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Lowes family in the Rural Municipality of Cornwallis. In 1881, John Wesley Lowes and his wife Sarah homesteaded SW32-9-19W and their son James A. Lowes homesteaded E32-9-19W. Another son was Thomas H. Lowes.
