The Lorette West School District was established in October 1898 and a one-room schoolhouse operated on Lot 38, Range 9, Township 4E of Lorette Parish in the Rural Municipality of Tache. In 1966, the district was dissolved and its area became part of the Lorette Consolidated School District and later the Seine River School Division.
