This three-storey brick block on the north side of Portage Avenue in St. James (now part of Winnipeg) was built by contractor Frank Reade Lount in 1928 at a cost of about $100,000. The 52 feet by 110 feet building contained 20 suites in its original configuration. The structure was connected to the adjacent Oakdale Court (201 Winchester Street) and operated as an apartment into the 1980s before being demolished.
