This former United church at Belmont, in the Rural Municipality of Prairie Lakes, was built in 1891 for a Presbyterian congregation. A tower was added around 1910 and a bell donated by the municipality was installed later. A basement was constructed under the building in 1920. Following the unification of the Presbyterian and Methodist congregations in 1925, the building was covered in brick veneer, completed by 1927 with an addition designed by Winnipeg architect John Hamilton Gordon Russell and built at a cost of about $20,000.

Further renovations were carried out in 1983. The original windows were replaced with triple-pane windows in 1991. The final service in the church was held on 28 June 2020. The congregation was dissolved and the building was sold to be renovated into residential apartments.
