This monument in the Municipality of Rhineland, dedicated on 8 July 1978, commemorates pioneer settlers who came to this area of the Mennonite West Reserve around 1876. The first sessions of “Die Konferenz der Mennoniten im mittleren Kanada” were held in the Hochstadt Bergthaler Church here, on 20-21 July 1903.
