This one-storey red brick and Tyndall Stone trimmed, Vernacular Commercial-style building was at the northwest corner of McGregor Street and College Avenue in Winnipeg. Measuring 32 feet by 46 feet, it was built in 1931 by day labour at a cost of about $3,500, for owner Bartholomew “Bert” Kindzierski (1889-1969). It was used as a neighborhood grocery store with a residence in the rear of the building.
In 1939, the building was purchased by Peter Bodner (1908-1974) and was operated as Bodner's Grocery, associated with the Red & White Stores chain. The building has since been demolished and the site is now occupied by a different building.
