Historic Sites of Manitoba: Hounslow House (174 Perth Avenue, Winnipeg)

This one-storey wood frame and wood plank siding, American Foursquare Cottage-style house on Perth Avenue in West Kildonan (now part of Winnipeg). Measuring 20 feet by 40 feet, it was built in 1914 at a cost of about $1,200, for owner Frederick Hownslow (c1879-1931). He was a conductor at the Winnipeg Electric Railway Company.

At the time of a 2020 site visit, the house was slightly modified from its original appearance with its original wood plank siding covered by vinyl siding.
