Historic Sites of Manitoba: Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church (Solsgirth, Municipality of Prairie View)

This Ukrainian Catholic church at Solsgirth, in the Municipality of Prairie View, was the former Burdette School, brought to the site of the village’s first school and renovated into a church, with domes hand-crafted by carpenter Mike Swistun. It operated from 1950 to its last service on 16 June 2002. Initially, the congregants decided to donate the church and its contents to the Prairie Mountain Regional Museum. Sometime after 2009, they sold it to people who intended to convert it into a private residence. At the time of a 2016 site visit, this conversion had not been done.
