Historic Sites of Manitoba: Gull Harbour Lighthouses (Hecla Island, Hecla-Grindstone Provincial Park)

Three lighthouses on the edge of Gull Harbour, at the northern end of Hecla Island in Hecla-Grindstone Provincial Park, date from the early days of navigation on Lake Winnipeg. A short, wooden lighthouse dates from 1898 while a taller, steel lighthouse nearby was built in 1926. Both are tended by the Canadian Coast Guard. A third lighthouse stands near a boat marina at N51.19750, W96.61809.
