Historic Sites of Manitoba: Hecla Island Ferry (Hecla-Grindstone Provincial Park)A wooden pier at Hecla-Grindstone Provincial Park was used between 1953 and 1972 to ferry people and vehicles across to Hecla Island, before construction of the Hecla Island Causeway, now renamed the Captain Grimsi Grimolfson Causeway to commemorate the long-term ferryman.
