Historic Sites of Manitoba: Hamilton House / Chalet Apartments (434 Assiniboine Avenue, Winnipeg)

This two-storey structure on Assiniboine Avenue was built in 1894 as a private residence for Lauchlan Alexander Hamilton (1852-1941), land commissioner for the Canadian Pacific Railway. He moved to Toronto, Ontario in 1899 and the residence was sold. It was named Chalet Apartments in 1940 after being converted into several apartment suites.
