Historic Sites of Manitoba: Green Brier Service Station (1601 Main Street, Winnipeg)

Formerly located at the northeast corner of Main Street and Smithfield Avenue in West Kildonan (now part of Winnipeg), a 1½-storey brick and stucco building, adjacent to the Green Brier Inn, was built in 1932 as a service station for proprietor C. Pearce. The building originally had two service bays and two gasoline pumps that sold Radio Oil brand gasoline. The second floor had a small residential space.

The building was later closed and demolished sometime in the 1980s. The site was taken over by the Green Brier Inn as an extension of its parking lot.
