Historic Sites of Manitoba: Gilbert the Golf Ball (Gilbert Plains, Municipality of Gilbert Plains)

Gilbert the Golf Ball, a steel and fiberglass statue of a smiling golf ball dressed in golf gear and carrying a hockey stick, was built at Gilbert Plains in 1997. He stands at 11 feet tall and symbolizes the community’s fondness for sports.
