Historic Sites of Manitoba: Gibson Family Monument (Municipality of Cartwright-Roblin)

A pair of monuments at this site in the Municipality of Cartwright-Roblin commemorate Maple Bluff Farms. A plaque on a concrete form of Manitoba commemorates James M. Gibson Sr. and Elizabeth Gibson who established their homestead here in 1877. Also listed are their seven children and “all those who followed 1887-1987”: Catherine, Mary, Elizabeth, Peter, Albert, Florence, and James. Beside it is a rock inscribed with the following: “Gibsons. Maple Bluff Farms. Since 1887. James M Sr & Elizabeth, James M Jr & Mildred, Brian W J & Pat, Kim, Lauree, Tannis, Gina.”
