Historic Sites of Manitoba: Fairfield School No. 418 (RM of Prairie Lakes)The Fairfield School District was established formally in August 1885, with a school building erected in the northeast quarter of 10-4-17 west of the Principal Meridian, in what is now the Rural Municipality of Prairie Lakes. The school closed in 1964 and the district was dissolved in January 1967. The building is gone from the site, replaced by a monument dedicated at a ceremony on 22 July 1967. Among the teachers of Fairfield School was John J. Pool (1893).
