Historic Sites of Manitoba: Bus Depot and Lunch Bar / Depot Lunch (525 Park Avenue, Beausejour)

First opened as the Bus Depot and Lunch Bar in 1951, this building at 525 Park Avenue in Beausejour was a depot for Red River Motor Coach Lines until the company was sold to Grey Goose Bus Lines in 1962. The depot and restaurant business went bankrupt in the mid-1960s and Grey Goose shifted its depot to Vickie's Snack Bar.

In 1967, the building was purchased by Ray and Mel Zabrocki and operated as Depot Lunch for 38 years until the couple retired in 2005 and sold the building in 2007. After a remodelling and new facade, a restaurant named Bistro 525 operated here from about 2013 to 2017. As of 2019, the building stands vacant.
