Historic Sites of Manitoba: Canadian Pacific Railway Station (198 Archibald Street, Winnipeg)

Formerly located on Archibald Street in St. Boniface (now Winnipeg), a one-storey wood frame building was built in 1909 as a station for the Canadian Pacific Railway. It served the St. Boniface Yard and adjacent Engine House. The layout of the building’s interior was determined by railway standards of the time for small to medium-sized passenger stations. It included an office, a waiting room and baggage room for passengers, a separate storage room for freight, and later a bunkhouse. The station has since been demolished and no vestige of it remains today.
