Historic Sites of Manitoba: Chocolate Shop Restaurant (7 Crescent Avenue West, Souris, Municipality of Souris-Glenwood)

This three-storey brick block on Crescent Avenue West in Souris was built in 1893. The main floor was occupied by a succession of restaurants, an early one being the Radio Cafe. In 1936, it was purchased by James “Jim” Christie (?-1985), who renamed it the Chocolate Shop. Space in the upper floors was occupied by a dentistry office and residential apartments.
