Historic Sites of Manitoba: Campbell House (8 Neil Place, Winnipeg)

When this two-storey brick house in Winnipeg was constructed in 1889, its address was on East Kildonan Road, now Henderson Highway. As the farmland around it was developed into residential property, the house was eventually situated on a side street called Neil Place, named for the person for whom it was constructed, Neil Campbell.

Two nearby houses at 618 and 626 Henderson Highway were built in 1908 and 1910, respectively, for Campbell’s two daughters.
