A 110,000-bushel composite-style grain elevator at Brunkild, on the CNR Carman Subdivision in the Rural Municipality of Macdonald, was built in 1968 by Manitoba Pool Elevators, replacing an older, smaller elevator that was sold and moved to the Homewood Hutterite Colony. In the mid-1990s, the facility passed through a succession of owners before being purchased by Besco Grain, a company specializing in the processing and marketing of mustard seed.
