An elevator in Brookdale, on the CPR Varcoe Subdivision in the Municipality of North Cypress-Langford, was built in 1929 and operated by the Manitoba Pool Elevators. A balloon annex was built beside it in 1940 and an Overgaard annex was constructed in 1952. It closed in July 1978 when the adjacent rail line was removed. The building was later sold and used for private grain storage. The original office building, which stood beside the elevator, was removed and replaced by a metal granary.
