Historic Sites of Manitoba: Brisette the Cow Monument (La Broquerie, RM of La Broquerie)

The municipal mascot for La Broquerie is Brisette the Cow, as the town is one of the province’s largest milk producing centres. The fiberglass statue was erected in 1983 to commemorate the centenary of the town and represents the significance of the dairy industry to the regional economy. Due to vandalism, Brisette had her extremities repaired and received a fresh coat of paint. In June 2019, Brisette was relocated to a site beside the La Broquerie Hotel. At the bottom of the pedestal is a stone monument commemorating the town's centenary.
