Historic Sites of Manitoba: Ashcroft Conservation Monument (Municipality of Prairie View)

A monument along Highway #42 in the Municipality of Prairie View was erected in 1982 by Ducks Unlimited Canada to commemorate a local wetland conservation project undertaken with support of the Province of Manitoba, Rural Municipality of Birtle, and landowners Cromar Ashcroft, Rodney Ashcroft, Ken and Rosemarie Ewbank, and Harry Vryenhoek. Funds for the project were provided by Illinois DU Life Sponsors: Ramon R. Bione, Beatty T. Burke, Irwin E. Fuchs, Joseph M. Kapilla, Hylee F. Kemp, R. E. McGreevy, Bill J. McKinney, Marvin E. Miller, James A. Nelson DDS, Thomas J. Nold, Joseph L. Partoll, Harvey C. Pitt, Dr. Bernard Ruder, Barbara E. Truitt, Charles T. Urban, and Jack F. Walker.
