Memorable Manitobans: Charles Richard Edward Willetts (1880-?)

Soldier.

Born at Windsor, Nova Scotia, 21 May 1880. Son of the Rev. Dr. C. E. and Mrs. Willets. Married Jean MacMechan, 7 April 1913. Has two daughters. Was educated at King’s College School, Windsor, Nova Scotia. Royal Military College, Kingston, Ontario. Was with the South African Constabulary, 1900-05. Royal Canadian Regiment, 1906-1919. Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry, 1919-25. Saw much distinguished service in France in the Great War and was awarded the Distinguished Service Order. In the 1920s, he was Commanding Officer of the P.P.C.L.I., Fort Osborne Barracks, Military District No. 10. Recreations: Cricket, golf, football and tennis. Address, Fort Osborne Barracks, Winnipeg.
