Historian.

Born in Hong Kong, raised in Macau, and now based in Winnipeg, Michael Veith is a transit enthusiast. The juxtaposition of the aforementioned cities led him to explore Winnipeg’s local history in his undergraduate degree. He has combined interest in history and urban landscape with photography through his photo exhibit (2019) and ongoing instagram project, Expiring City. He is currently the Design and Digital Media Associate at Mennonite Central Committee Manitoba and cycles year round with his partner.

His articles for the Manitoba Historical Society:

“That’s it. I’m buying a car”: An Analysis of Winnipeg Transit’s Actions and Responses in the Early Post-War Era, 1946–1962
Prairie History, Number 11, Summer 2023
