W. Yvon Dumont

Community activist, Lieutenant-Governor of Manitoba (1993-1999).

He served President of the Manitoba Metis Federation and, from 1993 to 1999, as Lieutenant Governor for Manitoba. In 1996, he was given an honorary doctorate by the University of Manitoba. In 2001, he was inducted into the Order of Manitoba and, in 2002, he received the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal.
