Memorable Manitobans: Albert “Al” Ducharme (1937-2013)

Municipal official.

Born in St. Vital on 15 August 1937, son of Louis Ducharme and Lena Andreychuk, he attended McNeese State College in Louisiana on an athletic scholarship. He returned to Winnipeg where he served for 21 years on the city council. He was the President of the Manitoba Association of Urban Municipalities from 1978 to 1979. He died at Winnipeg on 19 December 2013.
