Historian.

He grew up on a farm at Balmoral and made a few trips of his own to Winnipeg Beach as a youth, although it was usually by car. Hit by the writing bug, he worked at the Dauphin Herald, Rosetown Eagle (Saskatchewan), and Portage Daily Graphic before ending up at The Manitoban at the University of Manitoba. Working on a university campus led to taking some classes in history, and then some more classes in history and then eventually to completion of a PhD in history at the University of Toronto. In 2020, he was appointed an Associate Editor of Prairie History.

His articles for the Manitoba Historical Society:

Winnipeg Beach by Moonlight
