In May 1947, a group of Fort Garry citizens lead by Art Elders met to discuss formation of a curling club. They decided to build a four-sheet club located at 1341 Pembina Highway. Curling began in the fall of 1947, with Art Elders elected as the club's first President. The club affiliated with the Manitoba Curling Association that same year. It was not until 1952 that the complete building was finished. In 1958, the club built a new six-sheet rink at the same location on Pembina Highway. In 1965, the club was rebuilt but set back on the property.
The Pembina Curling Club was home to Mike Riley who skipped a team to the 1984 Canadian Men’s Curling Championship.
