Error processing SSI file
In 1909, leaders of the Island Lake Band signed an adhesion to Treaty 5 that included much of northern Manitoba. On 31 July 1969, the Band separated into four First Nations: Garden Hill First Nation, St. Theresa Point First Nation, Wasagamack First Nation, and Red Sucker Lake First Nation. Plaques commemorating the 50th anniversary of the separation, in 2019, are displayed in the band office of the Garden Hill FIrst Nation.
