MHS Centennial Business: Rock Lake Review / Southern Manitoba Review

The first issue of the Rock Lake Review was published on 4 January 1899 in Cartwright by Robert J. C. Stead. Later known as the Rock Lake Review and Cartwright Enterprise, since 1904 it has been published under the banner Southern Manitoba Review. Stead edited the paper until 1909 when its operation was taken over by his brother-in-law, D. John Wallace. Still operated by one of Wallace’s descendants, the newspaper has been designated as an MHS Centennial Business.
